Overview

As part of the logistics team, we are responsible for the equipment as a whole. Everything we use on a Sunday arrives in a car, gets set up, works for two hours, gets packed down and goes back in the car again. Our job is to get that done seamlessly.

If a cable is missing on Sunday morning, that is our responsibility.

  • Get the equipment out of the car and into the room, safely and in one trip where we can.
  • Set it up: Hope Terminal, speakers, stands, projection and the screen, mics, power and cables.
  • Check it works before the team needs it, not while they’re waiting.
  • Pack it down at the end: every cable rolled, every item back in its own bag or place.
  • Get it back into the car, complete. Nothing left behind, nothing loose.
  • Look after the equipment week to week: batteries, damaged cables, what needs replacing.

The best logistics work is the work nobody notices. Nobody should be waiting on us, and nobody should be tripping over us.

Reliability beats brilliance. The volunteer who is always there, on time, doing the simple thing well is worth more than anything else.

Pack down is as important as setup. How we leave the equipment on Sunday decides how next Sunday goes.

We look after each other. Nobody serves every week. If you’re struggling, say so and we’ll cover you.
