Power Extensions

We currently use 2 power sockets. They should be positioned at:

  1. Under the main MM desk

    • Connect our power extension
    • Primary connection point for most equipment
      • Router
      • Mixer
      • Laptop

  2. Left of the stage (audience perspective)

    • Use the power extension from the hall.
    • Normally we pull it from the center floor power box to the left side of the stage, because the left power box is full
    • Powers:
      • Keyboard
      • Left speaker
    • Remember to return to the same place where we found the power extension

Why set this up first? The power lines shouldn’t ever move. If we place it now, it’ll be at the very bottom of all the other cables. So the other cables shouldn’t interfere with it. Also allows us to start powering things up like the router below

What about the right side of the stage? We don’t pack an additional power extension yet.

Network Router

  • Connect power to nearest main power extension
  • Ethernet to mixer (LAN Port)
  • Ethernet to laptop (LAN Port)
    • If laptop is not there yet, just leave the cable to be plugged later
    • This is low priority

Why set this up first? It takes a little bit for the router to startup the wifi connection. And we need this to control the mixer

  1. Place in position

    • Middle back of the stage
    • Might need to be a bit to the left, to connect to keyboard later

  2. Ensure Ethernet connection

    • Confirm ETHERNET setting selected (switch on top left of the mixer)

  3. Power on

    1. Power cable to power extension
    2. Turn it on, switch is on the right side of the mixer
